SILVER LINING

Amidst the global pandemic and challenges, we can all do something productive. V encourages you to grab this opportunity to upskill yourself.

In the last few weeks, The Movement Control Order (MCO) and social distancing regulations were announced in many countries across the globe giving many businesses with a very short time to plan for the massive disruption brought to the workplace.

Within a week, most organisation had employees work remotely from home and managers were thrust into the position of leading virtual teams, many for the first time.

Thanks to technology, teams were able to connect and continue to work from home but this seems to be limited to Top Executives and Managers of companies whose immediate priorities are now to grapple to with strategies, adjusting budget numbers to keep the business running as efficiently as possible.

Since early March 2020, Zoom - a modern enterprise for video communications through cloud platform has became the second most downloaded app in the world with close to 20 million new users according to statement by Sensor Tower's head of mobile insights Randy Nelson.

While top management has very quickly adjusted to the new normal of working remotely with these busy schedules, a large number of employees in organisations are isolated at home without a plan and left in the dark about their futures at work. Hans Kluge, director of the European branch of the World Health Organization (WHO), said that isolation has a negative impact on people's mental health and well-being. In addition to just being at home, the lack of purpose, routine and productivity is adding to their stress. Uncertainty is also fuelling anxiety.

At V Integrated Wellness, “V” believes that there is “silver lining” in any situation and this in particular has forced us to think creatively and innovatively. “Despite this temporary challenge and disruption to our business, as an industry leader, we remain confident about the long-term growth potential of wellness tourism and capture this opportunity to raise the standards by investing in our employee. “V” has launched the e-learning platform through V Academy for all its employees via Zoom early last week to keep all our employees engaged, informed and included.

Embracing the flower of life philosophy, to always seek new ways to love and respect life, V Academy was set up with a vision to produce high quality wellness practitioners and groom leaders with highly marketable skills, recognised by the wellness industry. Trainings were usually conducted on site with hand-on approaches by skilled, experienced instructors such as visiting gurus and industry experts.

However now, we leapt to take advantage of the technology available to fill a knowledge gap. We acknowledge that things are going to be radically different post crisis and we must adapt new strategies in the way we work.

That said, our training online will focus on business management, classic theories, industry insights and other management principles that will groom holistic leadership skills. We are very fortunate that some of the best industry practitioners have volunteered to coach and speak in our training sessions.
